This is a page from our notebook, when Florence Artur and I prepared for a performance of improvisation video and audio for the open studios in Montreuil on October 10. We were familiar with one another’s work, but hadn’t tried performing together. From the first digital byte, it was a great journey. In Florence’s Montreuil studio, I held my guitar and stood facing the projection, so I could watch the movement of her painting, and could respond to the evolution of form and color, which in turn reponded to my loops and leads. Florence projected digital paintings while I worked with a three-channel loop pedal, telecaster and violin bow.
