Warm and bright late September afternoon. I played 2 sets at the Bastille Festival by the American Center for the Arts in the 11th arrondissement. I felt right at home singing up and out into open urban streets, plugging my friends’ art projects and the upcoming election. I have a hard time talking about politics. I’m interesting in history, what is fair, what feels right, win/win. I get lost in policy, politics, and put off by closed doors and lies. There is an interesting article in this week’s New Yorker Magazine about Campaigns, Inc., a 1930s duo who really set the stage for Fox news. Interesting how some people don’t lie as a matter of course, and others do.
